Using our strengths is essential to all the key aspects of our well-being: positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meaning, achievement…even our sense of vitality! Positive psychology research has shown that when we use our strengths, we are happier, more fulfilled, more engaged, and more energized. We learn more quickly and are more likely to achieve goals. We have better relationships with others and we bounce back more quickly from setbacks.
Because of the role that using our strengths plays in creating our personal and collective well-being, it is essential that every single one of us is helped to better understand, develop, and use our strengths.
In order to help more people thrive, flourish, and contribute their best, it is essential that schools, families, communities, and organizations become places where people are actively and intentionally helped to know, grow (and show!) their strengths.
This is why the mission of All Our Strengths is to help communities become places where all people have the opportunity to know and grow the strengths within themselves and each other. Our strengths are too important to be left to chance!
